J&K’s Kiayatullah Malik receives NSS Volunteer Award 2021-22

Prez Murmu presented awards to 41 volunteers; LG Sinha congratulates Malik

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Kifayatullah Malik among 41 volunteers were honored with National Service Scheme awards. The President of India, Droupadi Murmu presented the National Service Scheme Awards for the year 2021-2022 at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.
Kifayatullah Malik, NSS volunteer, Department of Social Work, University of Kashmir, Srinagar was honored for his selfless social work.
He has participated in a number of blood donation camps organised by the NSS unit and has donated blood 3 times. Kiayatullah Malik has played an important role in providing coaching and stationary material free of cost to the village people.
He also rendered his services in construction of a home for a homeless widow.
As part of the NSS volunteer team, he raised Rs74,524/- in order to provide food kits to the needy. He has actively participated in various awareness programmes like Road Safety and Traffic Rules, Importance of Voting, Digital Literacy, Gender sensitisation, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bima Yojna, plastic-free India and the drives towards a Cashless India. He has been the recipient of the best Van Mitra Award for planting more than 500 saplings. In recognition of his exemplary and commendable social service through NSS, Kifayatullah Malik has been awarded the National Service Scheme Award for the year 2021-22.
The President of India, Droupadi Murmu presented the National Service Scheme Awards for the year 2021-2022 at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (September 29, 2023).
The NSS Awards, instituted by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, are presented every year to the NSS Volunteers, Programme Officers, NSS Units and the Universities/+2 Councils to recognize their voluntary service.
The awards ceremony also saw six dedicated individuals hailing from the northeastern region being honored for their outstanding contributions. The recipients include three from Assam, one from Mizoram, and two from Tripura.
In addition to Northeastern awardees, volunteers hailed from Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Rajasthan , and Telangana also honored on the occasion .
